The name All Powers is derived from the Greek word Pankration, which translates as 'all force’ or ‘all powers'. Pankration was a sport introduced into the Greek Olympic Games in 648 BC and originally had scarcely any rules. The athletes used boxing and wrestling techniques as well as kicking and holds, locks and chokes on the ground.
All Powers Gym started life as 'Stockport Thai Fighters’ under Muay Thai trainer Paul Tite. When Paul and his wife moved to Thailand in 2010 he handed over the reigns of Stockport Thai Fighters to his fighter Panicos Yusuf. Within the year Panicos had moved the gym to larger premises and changed the name to All Powers, a well-respected name that is now internationally recognised.
As family is extremely important to Panicos, All Powers prides itself on being inclusive and accessible to all who walk through its doors from, professional fighters to those training for fitness, everyone is welcomed into the All Powers family.
Panicos is grateful to good friends Paul Tite, for giving him his first chance, Mike Dagley, for coming up with the name All Powers, and Jamie Alaise for his continued support and partnership in All Powers.
